The first Jennifer Ellsworth Landmarks ornament, the San Francisco Cable
Car, was created in 1995 and was quickly followed by other San Francisco
landmarks which became an instant success. WHERE Magazine chose the first
six ornaments as "souvenir of the month" in November of l996, and hundreds
of people started their collections.
Mayor Willie Brown of San Francisco chose the Palace of Fine Arts ornament
in l996 to customize with his name and the date ~~ gifts for the diplomatic
corps and other guests of the city. For l997, we developed the San
Francisco City Hall ornament, again customized for "hizzoner."
The original San Francisco series expanded to include thirteen different
landmarks, including the famous Golden Gate Bridge, historic Castro Theater,
and Coit Tower. In 2000, all of the following cities are represented: New
York, Washington D.C., Chicago, Louisville, KY (the Kentucky Derby, of
course), St. Louis, Hollywood, London, and Paris.
